"I Like to capture light on the surface through the use of mark making tools such as combs, brushes, trowels etc. some of which I make myself. My paintings take a different look depending on how the reflected light sweeps the textured paint surface. At times this light effect creates movement that that is in constant change. This allows for a different viewing experience everytime." -Richard Lalonde

Richard Lalonde is a Montreal based artist who began his career as a graphic designer and illustrator. He now spends most of his time painting. His painting style is based in realism and abstraction.

His camera, a faithful companion of all time feeds him pictures for inspiration some of which often translate into paintings, pictures of nature, architecture, people, photos of artful details captured in everyday life.
