OLUCE Colombo Wall Lamp

OLUCE Colombo Wall Lamp - The visionary and futuristic designer Joe Colombo designed the Colombo lamp in 1970, on the wave of the rapid diffusion of the halogen light. The design is in fact one of the first domestic lamps to use the new type of bulb. The design of the Colombo lamp – base, chrome stem and adjustable reflector – responds to the demands for clean shapes and technological functionality that go hand in hand with the concept and design of this great designer.

OLUCE Zanuso Table Lamp

OLUCE Zanuso Table Lamp - In 1963, Marco Zanuso designed the model 275 table lamp for Oluce with its large adjustable rotary Perspex diffuser, fastened to a lacquered metal base. Subsequently renamed Zanuso, the 275 lamp was originally conceived for use as a desk lamp. However, its purpose was not intended as an operational lamp, but rather to illuminate a table in an environment that is not necessarily an office. In fact, its iconic shape finds use not only on desks, but generally on any bearing plane, its primary role being to light a portion of a room.

OLUCE The Globe Table Lamp - Display Model

OLUCE The Globe Table Lamp - The Globe is a lamp which was designed by Joe Colombo in 1964, created in table, suspension and wall lamp versions, available in two sizes. OLUCE Switch Table Lamp

OLUCE Switch Table Lamp - By means of the Switch lamp, the Japanese designer Nendo, revisits the shape of the classic abat-jour by renewing both its materials and its function. OLUCE Siro Table Lamp

OLUCE Siro Table Lamp - Marta Perla has designed Siro, a semi-spherical table lamp with a disc at the front releasing in its interior an oblique light thanks to the slim LED light source. Seen from the front, Siro appears to consist of two two dimensional elements, giving the illusion of being perfectly balanced on a surface. It takes its name from the necessity, so typical of man, to search in celestial movements, possible links between one’s own past and cosmic phenomena. Hence Siro, deriving from Sirius, the brightest white star in the night sky.

OLUCE Semplice Table Lamp

OLUCE Semplice Table Lamp - Sam Hecht designs Semplice for Oluce, a table lamp consisting of a single blown glass bell, acting as both the diffuser and the base for the design. The lower end, in fact, rests directly on the floor, while the upper part of the bell is covered internally by a metal cap which encases the luminous bulb. The extreme constructive synthesis of the structural elements of this product is accompanied by painstaking attention to details and finishes: the sophisticated galvanic processing of the head, the rotary dimmer positioned at the top of the lamp and the metal braid wires. Thanks to this pairing, the ‘simplicity’ of the forms, from which the design adopts its name, is therefore enriched with sophisticated finishes and details, resulting in a product that is decorative and lightweight at the same time. Presented at Euroluce 2013, Semplice won that year’s prestigious “Best British Design Award”.

OLUCE Eva Table Lamp

OLUCE Eva Table Lamp - The body of the object is a ball containing the LED light source; it is open on one side and stands on a slim cylindrical base. The inside of the ball is concealed by a surface that almost perfectly completes it, closing it like a sphere that recomposes itself, with the exception of a circle, a luminous light spiral that recalls the phenomenon of an eclipse. As this circular surface moves towards the interior or exterior of the ball, it allows different amounts of light to pass through, creating intimate, suffuse atmospheres, and revealing glimpses of the fine gold leaf walls inside the Eva lamp with varying degrees of clarity.

OLUCE Cylinda Table Lamp - Display Model

OLUCE Cylinda Table Lamp - Angeletti & Ruzza designed Cylinda, a table lamp formed from two cylinders of different dimensions and thicknesses. The first, which is slimmer and taller, becomes the base supporting the second unit, a large, slender disc that forms the light-shade, with an LED light source shining beneath it. In the words of the designers, the essential forms of this design aim: “To eliminate, not to add anything that is not absolutely necessary: this was the mantra guiding the design of the lamp; with its quiet presence, it succeeds in creating a positive atmosphere that can transform everyday routine into everyday poetics.” Cylinda captures the attention with its strong, poetic presence, maintaining a minimalist sophistication with its clean outlines and use of geometric shapes, fully reflecting the Oluce DNA. In the monochrome anthracite version, Cylinda confirms its refined quality, highlighting the elegance of the lines, while in the two-colour version, a brushed gold disc is supported on the anthracite base, a decorative touch that succeeds in discreetly embellishing the object.

OLUCE Alba Table Lamp

OLUCE Alba Table Lamp - The concept of Alba starts with a very simple element: the designer’s imagination was inspired by a drop of water – which she puts to use in different ways, depending on the model. References to the world of nature, with soft shapes contrasted with square lines, together with the use of a satin brass finish, combine to create Alba, a family with a strong visual impact. In the table lamp version, the drop rests delicately on a satin brass rectangular-section profile in the shape of a double asymmetrical ‘L’ , serving as the base and ornamentation of the light. Suspension Alba on the other hand consists of two models: the single one, gracefully suspended by a cable, and the double one, where the cable supports a metal structure with a satin brass finish, with two offset arms, under which light shines from the opaline drops. In the wall model, the solid is lightly attached to a square-section tubular support that fixes it to the ceiling rose. Two floor-standing versions complete the project: in both versions, a large rectangular-section stem with a satin brass finish arises from an anthracite base. In the first version, an arm branches off from the top, with a sphere suspended underneath it, while in the second, two arms of different heights, on each side, support the luminous drops, one from above and the other from below.

OLUCE Acrilica Table Lamp

OLUCE Acrilica Table Lamp - Joe Colombo‘s first project for Oluce, the only one worked on together with his brother Gianni. From then on, the two Colombo brothers clearly separated their fields: Joe left art in which he had shown interesting promise with “Nucleari”, while Gianni no longer worked in design, becoming one of the leading exponents of the kinetic, programmed movement. The 281 model, created in 1962, was immediately nicknamed “Acrilica” due to its surprising conspicuousness and exception innovation of the significant curve made from acrylic. Methacrylate, used for about a decade in the field of lighting, usually in thin sheets that are cut or thermoformed, found a very particular use here: its thickness and curve meant that, thanks to its conduction properties, the light from a fluorescent lamp contained within the painted steel base moved through the transparent body, eventually lighting the head in an incredible way. Due to this “magical movement”, “281” is more a work of kinetic art than a lamp.
